Key Restrictions Under UAE Law

• • Privacy Violations: Filming or photographing individuals without their explicit consent is a criminal offence.

  • Social Media Sharing: Posting someone’s photos, videos, or private content without permission can lead to at least 6 months of jail time and significant fines.

  • Sensitive Locations: Filming or sharing images of airports, government buildings, accidents, crime scenes, or critical infrastructure is strictly prohibited.

  • Unverified Content/Rumors: Circulating unverified footage or rumours about accidents, emergencies, or incidents from non-official sources is illegal.

  • Rubbernecking/Crowding: Slowing down or stopping to film accident scenes can result in heavy fines, even if only passing by.

    • Fines: AED 50,000 to AED 500,000
